2021-2022 WordMasters Challenge Meet #3 Results

The 35th annual WordMasters Challenge™ has drawn to a close with the last of three meets now complete.  Congratulations to all the teams that placed among the Top Ten in their division, as well as the 347 students who earned a perfect score of 20! Please see the charts below for more details, or go to the View Reports page on your dashboard and select Meet #3 from the dropdown box.

As always, please keep in mind that scores in the WordMasters Challenge™ do not reflect typical classroom results; in many divisions, less than 5% of participants score 18 or above.  Remember that everyone's goal should be individual and team improvement over time. The most critical step in the WordMasters Challenge™ process is reviewing the tests and discussing the logic behind the analogiesDon't skip this important activity!

In the BLUE DIVISION, schools with teams finishing among the Top Ten represented 16 different states, led by California with ten teams and closely followed by Illinois and New York with nine teams each.  Special congratulations to the fifth graders at Daves Creek Elementary (Cumming, GA), the eighth graders at Lincoln Hall (Lincolnwood, IL) and the eighth graders at Peterson Middle School (Sunnyvale, CA) -- all three teams posted perfect scores of 200!

In the GOLD DIVISION of the WordMasters Challenge™, Top Ten teams hailed from 14 different states, led by Illinois with ten teams and Connecticut and California just behind with nine teams each and South Carolina placing eight teams.  Once again, the fourth grade team from St. Mark's School of Texas (Dallas, TX) posted a perfect score of 200 points.  The eighth grade team from Miller Middle School (San Jose, CA) also delivered a perfect performance of 200 - congratulations! Local rivalries abound in areas such as Palatine, Illinois (Frank C. Whiteley School, Central Road School and Hunting Ridge School all placed sixth grade teams) and western Connecticut (Eastern Middle School in Riverside, Newtown Public Schools and Darien Public Schools all placed teams in the seventh grade).

Team Leaders, if you had one or more teams place among the Top Ten in its division and/or any of your students earned a perfect score, we will be sending you a DRAFT press release by May 15th. Since we email the press releases as Word documents, you may edit and distribute the press release at your discretion.  If you would like to create your own press release, click here for a downloadable template.

Be sure to examine the charts that follow the lists of Outstanding Teams, which are the best tools for assessing your own students' achievements.  As always, students scoring 18 or better should be extremely proud of their achievement.
